Liyang’s First “AI+” Sci-Tech Salon Concludes Successfully

On November 28, 2025, Liyang’s first “AI+” Sci‑Tech Salon was successfully held at SSAM Technology.

Attendees included Zhou Yongqiang, Deputy Secretary of the Liyang Municipal Party Committee and Mayor; Li Tao, Member of the Standing Committee and Vice Mayor; as well as leaders from relevant departments, townships, and state‑owned enterprises. Also present were representatives from Baidu AI, China Telecom Changzhou Branch, and nearly 40 key local enterprises in the new energy and intelligent equipment sectors.

Attendees first toured SSAM’s Smart Lab. The SSAM Smart Lab solution aims to create a fully intelligent, unmanned laboratory. Leveraging “AI + robotics” and “chemical innovation,” it enables end‑to‑end automation from sample preparation to dispensing, experimental testing, and post‑test processing—allowing the lab to run 24/7 and boosting testing efficiency by more than 15 times.

The event featured a special address by Xie Meng, Director of AI Technology Ecosystem Operations at Baidu AI, who spoke on the theme “AI Empowers Intelligent Manufacturing.” From dual perspectives—technical architecture and practical scenarios—she shared insights into how AI drives the upgrading of manufacturing.

Following that, representatives from SSAM, Bühler Machinery, and China Telecom Changzhou delivered in‑depth presentations on AI applications in new materials R&D and production, AI algorithms boosting productivity of intelligent equipment, and telecom AI empowering industrial practice.

Finally, Mayor Zhou Yongqiang addressed the gathering, offering an incisive analysis of AI’s vital role and future prospects for Liyang’s industrial development. He stressed that industry‑scenario applications are the key engine driving AI‑enabled industrial upgrading. Government should act as a “guide,” fostering stronger integration of AI with the real economy through top‑level design, policy support, and scenario deployment. As the primary force of innovation, enterprises must become the “main force” in exploring and applying AI technologies—proactively embracing technological change and seizing opportunities in the AI industry’s growth.

The launch of the “AI+” series of sci‑tech salons has not only built a collaborative platform for Liyang’s innovators to engage with frontier industries, but also stands as a pragmatic step toward driving industrial development and economic growth through technology‑powered innovation.
