On June 29, 2026, the SSAM Smart Modular Equipment and Ancillary Products R&D and Production Base Project broke ground in Qidu Town, Wujiang District, Suzhou. The ceremony was attended by Shen Weijiang, Standing Committee Member and Executive Deputy District Head of Wujiang District, Xia Guoqiang, Party Secretary of Qidu Town, Xu Yuanfeng, Deputy Party Secretary and Mayor of Qidu Town, and Chen Shengjun, Executive Vice President of SSAM. The launch of this Project marks SSAM's new era of AI-driven smart manufacturing, strengthening its ability to develop and produce intelligent new energy plant solutions and empowering the industry’s progress.

    With a total investment of 500 million yuan, Phase One of the SSAM Smart Modular Equipment and Ancillary Products R&D and Production Base Project occupies 29,300 m² and features nearly 40,000 m² of gross floor area, including modern intelligent production workshops, an R&D center, and unmanned labs. Once completed, the Project will form an AI-powered smart manufacturing platform covering intelligent equipment, smart factories, smart laboratories, intelligent packaging, and intelligent storage & transportation. This will enhance SSAM’s innovation, system integration, and delivery capabilities. Upon reaching full production, it is expected to generate over RMB 1.1 billion in annual output value.

    At the ceremony, Executive Vice President Chen Shengjun emphasized that the Project is more than a manufacturing undertaking — it is an innovation project, a quality project, and a future-oriented project. He said SSAM is committed to building a benchmark that accelerates internationally competitive new energy smart manufacturing. The Project will drive upstream and downstream supply chain synergy, inject new momentum into Wujiang’s new energy industrial cluster, and propel SSAM toward becoming a leader in advanced manufacturing management for the new energy sector, serving global clients with superior intelligent manufacturing capabilities.

   Party Secretary Xia Guoqiang of Qidu Town noted in his remarks that the Project aligns strongly with Wujiang’s goal of becoming a highland for new materials and high-end smart manufacturing. The local government will continue to improve the business environment, secure essential resources, and ensure the Project is completed, operational, and effective as early as possible — fostering a new growth driver for high-quality regional economic development (pending government confirmation).

    In the presence of the guests, a solemn groundbreaking ritual was held. With golden shovels raised and soil laid, the Project officially entered the full-scale construction phase.

   The successful groundbreaking ceremony not only opens a new chapter for the Project but also elevates SSAM to a new height in AI-driven smart manufacturing. Through the new base, SSAM will accelerate the deep integration of artificial intelligence, industrial automation, and digital technologies, continuously strengthening its AI-centered innovation and intelligent manufacturing system.
